Gorman’s began in 1940 as a damaged railroad freight company. We would take damaged freight from railroads, typically canned goods, and resell them to the local community. It wasn’t long before we started seeing damaged furniture coming through our store. We would take the damaged pieces, fix them, and then resell them to the community. Since our start all those years ago, Gorman’s has grown from one store to five with a commitment to being a style leader in home furnishings. Along the way we’ve received national recognition and have been voted “Best Home Furnishings Store” and “Best Contemporary Home Furnishings Store” in Michigan by readers of THE DETROIT NEWS and FOX NEWS.
